The 2019 Riedel Riesling Master Class - Off the Beaten Track 

The 2019 Riedel Riesling Master Class will feature two sessions:

Rieslings of the Great Southern - Daniel Hetherington, Chief Winemaker, Capel Vale Wines, will present Rieslings from the Great Southern Sub regions of Denmark, Frankland River, Mount Barker and Porongurup and will explain the features of these subregions that help to determine the terroir.

Born and raised in Western Australia, Daniel Hetherington is a graduate of Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science in oenology and viticulture. He has worked in wineries around the world including Canada, Oregon, New Zealand and Tasmania. Daniel is currently the Chief Winemaker at Capel Vale Winery, in Western Australia’s South West, producing delicious Riesling out of a low yielding vineyard near Mount Barker.

Germany – off the beaten track - Anne Krebiehl MW, Wine Writer will present German Rieslings, but not as you know them – Rieslings of Baden, Württemberg, Franken and Nahe.

German-born but London-based, Anne Krebiehl MW is a freelance wine writer and lecturer. She is the contributing editor for Austria, Alsace and England for the US Wine Enthusiast and also writes for trade and consumer wine publications - The World of Fine Wine, Decanter, The Buyer, Falstaff, and Vinum. She lectures, consults and judges at international wine competitions and is a panel chair at the International Wine Challenge. Admitted to the Institute of Masters of Wine in September 2014, Anne has helped to harvest and make wine in New Zealand, Germany and Italy. Her first book, The Wines of Germany, will be published in late 2019.
